Our Mission
Cornerstone Crossroads Academy exists for students who had lost hope in school and are now ready to reinvest in their futures.
Our city is full of young men and women who have the potential to be the next generation of leaders that our community needs. Yet poverty, homelessness, violence and addiction threaten to rob the futures of too many of these promising young people.
At Cornerstone Crossroads Academy, students earn a high school diploma and learn life skills foundational to achieving their purpose and becoming resilient servant leaders for their communities.
The mission of Cornerstone Crossroads Academy is to develop urban youth through transformative education, equipping future leaders to impact their communities for Christ.
About Us
A faith-based high school, Cornerstone Crossroads Academy provides personalized education pathways and a community of support to students with the greatest barriers so they can earn a diploma and discover their purpose.
It is our desire that CCA graduates become independently functioning and productive members of the community who influence their families, neighborhoods and communities for Christ. Students are not required to share our faith, but they are invited to consider life from a Christian worldview.
Cornerstone Crossroads Academy does not discriminate against students on the basis of race, color, national/ethnic origin, gender, sexual orientation or religion in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies and other school administered programs.
Our History
Cornerstone Crossroads Academy was founded in 2006 by Jim and Jane Beckett. The Becketts were inspired to begin the school after they volunteered with Hope Literacy in the city’s juvenile justice system. Based on their experiences, the Becketts believed that many good kids were lost in “the system.”
Cornerstone Crossroads Academy was started on the campus of Cornerstone Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Chris Simmons. After 17 years on the Cornerstone property, with Pastor Chris’ blessing, we moved in 2023 to a transitional space on the campus of the historic Phillis Wheatley School. With your support of the Forward Together campaign, we will transform the campus to reach more students and be an integral part of the Wheatley Place neighborhood.
