A New Campus, A Legacy Reborn

When Cornerstone Crossroads Academy purchased the Phillis Wheatley School in South Dallas to expand our campus footprint, we were excited about the possibilities the 25,000-square-foot property could offer students and the Wheatley Place community. We were also inspired by the legacy of esteemed poet Phillis Wheatley and the 100-year-old school that bears her name. 

We have embarked on Forward Together, a capital campaign to expand our school capacity and become an integral part of the Wheatley Place neighborhood.

Expanded school capacity

In the 2023-2024 school year, we will move operations to a temporary modular building on the Phillis Wheatley School campus. This will almost double our instructional space from our previous location while we complete phase one of the Phillis Wheatley School renovations. 

Renovations are underway to restore the gym building and add a catering space, providing opportunities for hands-on learning and community outreach.

Extended services for students, alumni and the community

Along with additional vocational training and case management resources for students and graduates, revitalizing the historic school will allow us to provide a safe, productive and inspirational gathering place for Wheatley Place neighbors – making the school a focal point for community activity and identity once again.
